Argumentative Essays Intensive.
Four days. Four argumentative essays written, marked, rewritten, remarked. Walk out with a bulletproof thesis framework and the confidence to tackle any argumentative prompt.
Argumentation is half of your essay marks.
O-Level essay papers increasingly reward argumentative thinking — even narrative and expository questions. Students who can construct a compelling argument with evidence and counter-points walk away with 25+/30. Students who can't stay stuck at B.
This bootcamp is built for one thing: teaching your child to argue in writing like a scholar. We strip away the guesswork, install our proprietary thesis framework, and drill it until it becomes reflex.
By Day 4, your child will have written four polished argumentative essays, each marked in detail. They'll walk away with a framework they can deploy on any future prompt — O-Level, JC, or beyond.
Before you enrol. Read this.
This bootcamp is not for everyone. Here's the honest self-check.
You recognise these signs
- Your child writes long essays but keeps scoring B3/B4
- Arguments feel "one-sided" or preachy
- Essays lack counter-arguments or rebuttal
- Your child freezes when prompts demand a stance
- Opening paragraphs feel generic or weak
- Sec 3–5 preparing for O-Level or N-Level English
Any of these apply
- Your child is below Sec 3 (start with weekly classes first)
- Main weakness is vocabulary or grammar (different fix)
- Only available 1–2 days out of the 4 (won't get full benefit)
- Your child is struggling with Paper 2 comprehension (enrol in Compre Mastery instead)
- Looking for generic English tutoring (we're specialists, not generalists)
Four days. Four transformations.
Each day builds deliberately on the last. No filler, no padding, no wasted hours.
The Thesis Architecture.
Strip away everything your child thinks they know about "stating a stance". We rebuild from the thesis statement up — the single most important sentence in any argumentative essay.
- The anatomy of an A1 thesis statement
- Mapping thesis to 3-point argument structure
- Live rewriting exercise: 10 weak theses → A1 theses
- First practice essay (to be marked overnight)
Evidence & Examples.
The second-biggest mark-loser: arguments without evidence. We build your child's personal "evidence bank" — 30+ real-world examples they can cite fluently in any essay.
- Return of Day 1 essay with detailed marking
- Case studies across 10 common O-Level topics
- How to deploy evidence without being listy or dry
- Second practice essay (focused on evidence use)
Counter-Argumentation & Rebuttal.
The technique that separates A1 from B3. Most students ignore opposing views. We teach your child to engage them strategically — and neutralise them with precision.
- Why concession makes an argument stronger, not weaker
- The 4 types of rebuttal (refute, reframe, redirect, relativise)
- Workshop: rewriting weak one-sided paragraphs
- Third practice essay (counter-argument focus)
Full Essay Under Exam Pressure.
Everything learned gets tested. Your child writes a full 400–500 word argumentative essay under exam conditions — with live peer review and Ms Shiny's final feedback.
- Timed essay: 50 minutes, exam-hall conditions
- Live marking with Ms Shiny (the most valuable part)
- Peer review: see what A1 essays look like
- Take-home: personalised post-bootcamp action plan
Six concrete outcomes. Guaranteed.
Not vague promises — specific, tangible results you can measure after Day 4.

Common questions, answered.
My child has never written an argumentative essay. Is this too advanced?
Not at all — the bootcamp is designed to teach from foundational principles. Even students who have never attempted an argumentative essay will leave Day 4 with 4 completed essays. We start simple and layer complexity each day.
What if my child misses a day?
Each day builds on the previous, so missing sessions significantly reduces the benefit. We provide a recording of the missed session and 30 minutes of 1:1 catch-up time, but strongly recommend committing to all 4 days.
Is this suitable for N-Level students?
Yes. N(A) and N(T) students preparing for N-Level English are welcome. The same frameworks apply — and N-Level students often benefit most from the intensive format.
Can siblings enrol together?
Yes — and siblings receive 15% off the second seat. WhatsApp us with both names and we'll apply the discount at checkout.
Do you offer any refunds?
Full refund if cancelled 14+ days before the bootcamp starts. 50% refund if cancelled 7–13 days before. No refunds within 7 days (but we'll transfer your seat to a future bootcamp).
Message Ms Shiny directly.
